Tritone paradox revisited (again)

So what I have been finding when I search the tritone paradox or shepard tones is a set of two different paradoxes that are different.

I will permit myself to call them my own names.

Ever-increasing pitch paradox

The Ever-increasing pitch paradox is the aural paradox where you feel that tones are ever increasing in pitch.

Is the interval going up or down? paradox

This is the paradox when an interval is played and some listeners feel that it is going “up” and others feel that it’s going “down”.
